Melissa Obegi is president of Conduit Capital, an impact investment platform that incubates market-return strategies to catalyze private capital for social and environmental change. She acts as Chief of Staff for Sustainable Credit Partner's, Conduit Capitals credit platform to finance sustainable real estate and serves on the board of RuralWorks Partners, focused on rural businesses committed to sustainability and quality jobs. Previously, she served as Asia General Counsel for Bain Capital in Hong Kong, with oversight of a $7 billion portfolio and a Managing Director with Oaktree Capital. Prior to this, she held various roles at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (now the U.S. Development Finance Corporation), a U.S. government agency that supports emerging market investments. Melissa received a J.D. from the School of Law at the University of California, Los Angeles, and a B.Sc. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. She is a Salzburg Global Fellow and co-chair of the Corporate Governance Advisory Committee. She sits on the board of Salzburg Global.
