Melissa serves as the Chief Programs Officer of Engineers Without Borders USA (EWB-USA), with 23 years of experience working as a civil engineer and 15 years in the international development sector. As the CPO, Melissa and her team provide engineering oversight, safety preparedness, and educational opportunities for over 300 projects in 36 countries, including in the US. Her team engages with all of the thousands of volunteers across the country, as they work to deliver critical impact. Melissa is a registered Professional Engineer in civil engineering. Prior to joining EWB-USA, Melissa served as a US Peace Corps volunteer in Peru, where she served as a Water and Sanitation volunteer from 2009- 2011. Melissa is passionate about social justice, education, and addressing inequities through basic engineering needs for communities.
