Max M. Schlereth created an innovative milestone in the service apartment industry with the introduction of The Living Hotels brand. Due to his past experience with Derag Livinghotels, he noted a market niche in the segment for long-term stays. So, he went on to found The Living Hotels, which is the first sales and marketing corporation for service apartments. The qualified member of a works council began his professional career at Areal-Bau GmbH in Vienna following his study in Innsbruck. After just a few years, in 2001, he was appointed to the board of the Derag Group, the market leader for "extended stays." In 1998, he graduated with a degree in company management. He returned to academia in 2005 when he became a professor at the University of Applied Sciences of St. Pölten (Austria), a position which he still currently holds.
