Maurice Makoloo

Maurice is the Ambassador of Kenya to Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV). As of February 4, 2025, he serves as Chair of the G-77 Vienna Chapter, following his tenure as Chair of the Africa Group of Ambassadors from August 2024 to January 2025. Prior to his diplomatic appointment, he was Vice President for the Africa Area Office at Habitat for Humanity International, where he led regional strategies to advance the organization's global impact goals and represented the organization to key stakeholders across Africa. Maurice previously served for nine years as East Africa Regional Director for the Ford Foundation and has over two decades of experience in strategic leadership across the nonprofit and development sectors. He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in law from the University of Nairobi and is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. He is also a certified leadership coach (Georgetown University, USA) and has served on numerous boards, including the International Board of VSO, the MicroBuild Fund Board, and several Habitat for Humanity and public health organizations across the continent.
