Mary Chepkemoi

Dr. Mary Chepkemoi is the Manager for Early Childhood Education (0–5 Years), Gender and Youth Agency at Mizizi Elimu Afrika, where she provides leadership in advancing inclusive, equitable, and quality education for children and young people, particularly those furthest behind. She leads the ECD Mapema Initiative, which strengthens Kenya’s early childhood development ecosystem by promoting responsive care through government collaboration, improved data systems, and community-driven childcare innovations. Her work also focuses on generating and translating evidence to inform policy and practice, strengthening gender transformative systems, and fostering partnerships that improve Gender Equality outcomes for women, men, children, and young people. Previously, she served as a Lecturer in the Department of Educational Foundations at Kenyatta University, where she taught History of Education and Comparative and International Studies.
