Martha Bulten is a journalist based in the middle (Utrecht) and east (Winterswijk) of the Netherlands. She works in the local newsroom REGIO8. In her role as reporter, she serves as an efficient bridge between REGIO8 and another local newsroom bordering Germany, for which further professionalization is the short term goal. As a reporter and 'bridge builder' she researches topics that are alive in the east of the country, ranging from culture to national politics- that affect the local city council. She is also involved in the cross-border collaborative Open Grensland, which is part of EUREGIO, funded by the EU. Martha holds a BA in Journalism from the Christian University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands, and a MA in International Media Studies from Pompeu Fabra University, Spain.
