Associate
Marie Escorneboueu is a member of the European Public Policy Practice in Brussels, where she advises clients on EU sustainability policy and regulatory matters, with a particular focus on chemicals and circular economy legislation. Drawing on her experience within the cabinet of a judge at the European Court of Justice (ECJ), she also supports clients in litigation before the ECJ and the Board of Appeal of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). Her work includes issues related to the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), the Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Chemicals (CLP) Regulation, and packaging and packaging waste frameworks.
Previously, Marie worked as an associate at international law firms, gaining extensive experience in regulatory matters across the product life cycle. Her practice areas included REACH, CLP, packaging, product labelling, waste, single-use plastics, biocidal products, and food contact materials. She regularly supported clients in navigating regulatory processes before national and EU authorities, managing applications for substance approvals, and developing legal strategies for enforcement proceedings. Her work also involved consortia management and data-sharing negotiations.
In addition to her legal experience, Marie has worked at a Brussels-based EU public affairs consultancy, where she provided policy and strategic support on sustainability and chemicals issues to clients in the cosmetics, biocides, detergents, and chemicals industries.
