Mariana Pérez Cruz

Children's Rights Expert and International Consultant, International Center for Justice Alliance, Netherlands / Mexico
Mariana Pérez is a young human rights and child rights activist from Mexico, fluent in English, Spanish, and Dutch. After working as a lawyer in Mexico, she served at the Court of Appeal of Youth Justice in Mexico and later as legal focal point for the national child care system. This gave her a deep understanding of the daily realities faced by children and women in contact with the justice system. She then pursued a Master’s in Children’s Rights at Leiden University in the Netherlands, before working as an international consultant. In this role, she has organized and delivered trainings, both online and in person, across Asia, Europe, and Latin America. She has also led research, advocacy, and projects with UN bodies, foundations, and international NGOs, focusing on issues such as digital justice, climate justice, and ending violence against children. She has also supported international initiatives and high-level events, bringing together governments, multilateral organisations, and civil society to advance justice for children worldwide.
