Cecilia Barros is the second national leader of the Evita Movement, the first woman of all the organizations in Argentina to occupy this space. It is a social and political organization made up of 500,000 people with the aim to end poverty, achieve gender equality, take care of the environment and grow cooperative work. Cecilia was born in a shantytown and grew up in a house with few economic resources. She graduated as a primary school teacher and has a university degree in "Communication in Educational Institutions" and "Citizenship Building". She is also a mother of an 11 year old girl. Her roles in the Movimiento Evita were coordinating the actions of the youth, the feminist struggle and the health, food and gender violence prevention operation in poor neighborhoods during the pandemic. She created work cooperatives throughout the country, participated in habitat programs to improve housing policies and was a candidate for deputy of the Nation in 2021. Currently Cecilia is responsible for planning and implementing strategies with a gender perspective to improve the working and living conditions of the poorest sectors of Argentina. Her work experience is in supermarket chains, fast food, education and government management.
