Manuel Rubio is a driven film student at the University of Miami, where he is passionate about directing, cinematography, and writing. He is determined to pursue a career in the film industry. Born in Mexico City, Manuel’s passion for film began at an early age when he would create Lego stop-motion shorts. He attended high school at Culver Academies and graduated with the rank of Capitan, serving as Unit Commander. This gave Manuel a deeper understanding of what leading a large team of people is like. While attending the University of Miami, he co-wrote and directed Respirando Vida Nueva. This compelling documentary won Best Undergraduate Documentary Film and Best Undergraduate Intro Film at the University of Miami Cane’s Fest.
