Loredana Bercuci is an assistant professor at the department of modern languages of the West University of Timisoara, where she teaches American cultural history. From 2016-2017, she was a Fulbright grantee at the State University of New York. Her research interests include American studies and critical theory, especially trauma and crisis studies, as well as critical race theory. Her most recent publications are "James Baldwin's Giovanni's Room (1956) as a Transgressive White-Life Novel" (Studia Universitatis Babes-Bolyai-Philologia, vol. 66, no. 1, 2021, pp. 191-204) and "The Remaking of the Radical in the Harlem Renaissance: Claude McKay's Home to Harlem" (Revista Canaria de Estudios Ingleses, no. 84, 2022, pp. 31-43). She holds a B.A. in English, an M.A. and a Ph. D. in American studies from the West University of Timisoara.
