Laura is leading the Youth Endowment Fund's Toolkit, an accessible summary of the best available research on preventing young people getting involved in violence and crime. Laura has experience working with policing, criminal justice, education, health, the voluntary sector and academia. She is committed to driving evidence-based policy and practice, and recently worked on a place-based violence prevention programme in Kenya and Uganda. She helped to set up the East Midlands Police-Academic Collaboration (EMPAC) and led the Institute for Public Safety, Crime and Justice, for several years. Laura completed her PhD whilst working in policing, with the University of Leicester.
