Lais Fleury

Laís Fleury is a social entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience advancing children's rights and environmental advocacy. An Ashoka Fellow since 2003, she co-founded Associação Vaga Lume, an NGO that promotes reading in rural Amazon communities. At Alana, where she has worked for the past decade, Laís co-leads the Nature Portfolio and serves as Head of International Partnerships, advocating for every child's right to connect with nature. She also supports children and adolescents as advocates for environmental and climate action, strengthening their participation in decision-making processes. Laís developed the concept for the documentary *The Beginning of Life 2: Outside*. She is the US Co-Chair of #NatureForAll, a member of the Executive Council of the International School Grounds Alliance (ISGA), and serves on The Earthshot Prize Expert Advisory Board. She holds a postgraduate degree in *The Time and Voice of Children: Anthropological and Poetic Listening to Childhood*.
