Managing Director, US Office
Kristina Vér Foley joined Salzburg Global as managing director, US Office, in 2023. She leads the organization's US operations with a focus on strategic growth, donor and partner engagement, and close collaboration with colleagues in Salzburg. Throughout her career, Kristina has championed the belief that stories create common ground and help global communities understand one another.
Over more than two decades, Kristina has held senior leadership roles in organizations that work across borders, cultures, and sectors. She served as chief communications officer for the National Court Appointed Special Advocate/Guardian ad Litem (CASA/GAL) Association for Children, and from 2017 to 2021 was chief of staff and international director of communications and brand at SOS Children's Villages International, where she guided global partnerships, governance, external engagement, and member relations in 138 countries. Earlier positions at BUILD.org, The American University of Paris, Central European University, and Harvard University strengthened her experience in development, communications, and institution-wide strategy within internationally connected environments.
Kristina began her career producing international news, documentary films, and immersive media for CNN, National Geographic, PBS, and clients ranging from Oprah to NATO. Those early years grounded her belief that narrative is a powerful tool for helping institutions clarify their purpose and bringing global communities into conversation. She holds a B.A. in French and German history and literature from Harvard University and completed her graduate studies as a DAAD/Fulbright Scholar at the Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film in Munich.
