Kristan is currently a lecturer in comparative religion at Surya University in Serpong Banten, Indonesia. He is also the general chairman of Central Board of Indonesia Youth Confucian Generation and also a chairman of the Division of Interreligious Relations of Central Board Indonesia Youth National Committee. Although a follower of the Confucian religion, Kristan studied at an Islamic religious university where he was pleased to learn of the goodness inherent to all religions. He is deeply committed to the furtherance of interreligious dialogue and believes that dialogue is crucial to promoting peacebuilding and reconciliation. In 2009, he represented the Republic of Indonesia as the sole delegate of the Indonesia Young Confucian Generation at the 5th Regional Interfaith Dialogue Forum Future Faith Leaders: Regional Challenges and Cooperation in Perth, Australia. He also participated in the International Conference on Cohesive Societies in June 2019 in Singapore. He is an alumnus of the 2016-2017 International Fellowship King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue in Vienna, Austria, and an alumnus of 2016 Mindanao Peacebuilding Institute in Davao City, Philippines. He holds a master's degree in comparative religion from the State Islamic University, Indonesia.
