Kokilavany Navalan runs a healthy tea production company, using naturally-grown resources and employs 15 women. Prior to that, she was part of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, a freedom fighter group, for 14 years. The ethnic conflicts prevented her from continuing her schooling past the age of 15. After the end of the war, she spent 18 months in a detention camp. Her goal is now to become the voice of the voiceless and to give a hand to those in need.
