Kishan Kumarsingh

Kishan Kumarsingh is an internationally recognized expert in climate change policy, multilateral environmental negotiations, and environmental science, with over 30 years of leadership at national, regional, and international levels. Since 2008, he has led Trinidad and Tobago's Multilateral Environmental Agreements Unit, authoring the country's National Climate Change Policy and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), while leading its engagement under the UNFCCC. As Co-Chair of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform, he helped steer negotiations that culminated in the Paris Agreement, including the adoption of the landmark decision establishing NDCs. He has also served as Chair of SBSTA, Chair of the Expert Group on Technology Transfer, Co-Chair of negotiations on the New Collective Quantified Goal on Climate Finance and currently leads the Fellowship and Trust-building Programme of the European Capacity Building Initiative (ecbi). He holds degrees in Environmental Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, and Law, combining scientific, legal, and policy expertise.
