Kishan Kumarsingh is the head of Multilateral Environmental Agreements Unit of the Ministry of Planning and Development. He is an environmental diplomat known for his influential leadership in international climate change negotiations. With decades of experience, he has held key roles within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, including chairing expert groups and leading negotiations for significant agreements like the Paris Agreement, most notably as the Chair of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific and Technological Advice and the Co-Chair of the Paris Agreement negotiations. His contributions extend to regional initiatives, playing a crucial part in the Escazu Agreement on Access to Information, Public Participation, and Justice in Environmental Matters in Latin America and the Caribbean. In Trinidad and Tobago, he has spearheaded environmental policy development, showcasing his commitment to global sustainability efforts. His work includes the National Climate Change Policy, the Nationally Determined Contribution, the development of legislation for transparency reporting, and the draft Just Transition of the Workforce Policy.
