Keith Hughes is a retired foreign service officer who served for twenty- one years. Keith served as public affairs officer in N'Djamena in 2022 and information officer in the Palestinian Affairs Unit in Jerusalem from 2020-2021. From 2017-2020, Keith served as public affairs officer in Khartoum, helping to reestablish normal relations between the United States and Sudan. Keith taught international relations and conducted research on social media and its use in democratization at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Keith's work at West Point earned him the position of assistant professor. Keith's belief in the foreign policy value of exchanges led him to serve two tours in the U.S. State Department's Bureau of Education and Cultural Exchange (ECA), where he focused his efforts on measuring the effectiveness of exchange programs. He served as deputy director of strategic communications in Kabul, as information officer in Bratislava and Sofia, and as consular officer in Auckland. Keith attended the University of Delaware, earning a BA in English and MA in international relations. Keith splits his time between West Chester, Pennsylvania and Westchester, New York.
