Kayla Winarsky McKenzie partners with global companies on projects focused on corporate responsibility to respect human rights, with a specific emphasis on companies within the energy, extractives, industrials, transport, and consumer sectors. She also leads BSR's Human Rights Working Group collaborative initiative and has spearheaded BSR's response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, advising on rapid human rights due diligence. Prior to joining BSR, Kayla served as an Adviser at the Danish Institute for Human Rights, where she spent several years advising multinational companies and investors on human rights. During this time, she also lectured in law at the University of Amsterdam. Previously, she worked as an Associate Attorney at the international law firm King & Spalding LLP, focusing on global anti-corruption investigations and cross-border white-collar litigation. She was also a founding member of the firm's Business and Human Rights Initiative. Kayla holds a J.D. and a Certificate in Global Human Rights from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, with coursework at the Graduate Institute in Geneva. She earned her B.A., Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude, from Tulane University. Kayla is a Fellow of Salzburg Global.
