Kayla is also Co-founder and Co-Executive Director of the Canadian non-profit, missINFORMED, a health education and advocacy platform for young women and gender diverse people. missINFORMED’s mission is to create health resources for women and gender diverse people that are easily accessible, evidence-informed and reflect the lived realities of young people in Canada to promote health literacy and informed decision-making. Alongside her team, Kayla advocates for better research about women’s and gender diverse people’s health and a healthcare system that meets young people’s needs. Kayla Alexandra Benjamin is also a PhD Candidate in Health Systems Research at the University of Toronto and a Vanier Scholar. Her research interests include health and social care policy, care work, and women’s health. Currently, Kayla works as a Researcher at the University of Toronto’s Centre for Global Social Policy and the Dalla Lana School of Public Health.
