Katalin Czippan

strategic and education advisor
Katalin is an educator and sustainability expert with a lifelong commitment to nature-based education. Her experience spans from leading nature camps and awareness campaigns to advising governments and teaching at universities. She serves as the founding co-chair of Nature Education within IUCN’s Commission on Education and Communication (CEC), where she is also a strategic advisor. She actively collaborates with international partners to embed nature-based learning into the Global Plan of Action on Education for Biodiversity. Katalin also serves as a council member of UNESCO’s International Bureau of Education. She has authored numerous publications and regularly gives lectures promoting education for sustainability. Her core belief is that education should be a strategic tool in conservation—and that understanding nature as a system, nurturing human-nature connectedness, and inspiring care for the natural world must be at the heart of education. She envisions learning that cultivates the mind, opens the heart, and lifts the spirit.
