Kara Medina is a humanitarian and development worker, specializing in gender and disaster resilience. She has collaborated with dynamic teams on a local and global scale to integrate local women's voices and leadership in nexus programming through participatory action research, equitable partnerships, and feminist projects. In her roles as global humanitarian partnership coordinator at CARE International Secretariat and gender advisor at CARE Philippines, she worked with international NGOs, U.N. agencies, local civil society, and women's rights organizations to examine the gendered impacts of emergencies, advocate for a feminist open government, and advance global commitments to locally-led humanitarian action. She is in the 9th cohort of the YSEALI ASEAN Women's Leadership Academy. Kara holds a Level 1 certification in Rapid Gender Analysis from the Geneva Learning Foundation, a license in psychometrics, a bachelor's in psychology, and a master's candidate for Women and Development at the University of the Philippines.
