Kamilas Alexsanther is a journalist with a decade of experience and is presently working as a director of a digital community media called Pakalavan. He is catering to the Tamil-speaking community affected by 30 years of war and applies the principle of transitional justice in amplifying their voices and bringing justice. Kamilas' vision for peacebuilding is to use media as a powerful means to amplify the voice of war-stricken people and address human rights issues and issues delaying transitional justice. He is specialized in detecting online hate speech and producing counter-narratives. His vision is to use media to create a fair, balanced, and objective conversation on the issues affecting the marginalized community in Sri Lanka. He wants to see Sri Lanka as a pure democratic country where cultural and religious pluralism prevails.
