Kaltumi Abdulazeez is the founder and executive director of Ladies Empowerment Goals and Support Initiatives (LEGASI), a non for profit, a women-led organization based and registered in Nigeria and officially authorized to work by the Corporate Affairs Commission. She also serves as the Country Director (volunteer role) for the Global Peace Chain Nigeria, a branch of an International Peace Building Organization with a mandate to raise global Youth Peace Ambassadors. Kaltumi worked in the USAID-funded Community Initiative to Promote Peace (CIPP) Program at the Interfaith Mediation Center (IMC) Kaduna, leading peacebuilding programs in the North Central and North Western part of Nigeria. She won a state honors award from the Jigawa State Government and a community activist of the year award by WOF awards. She is one of the Nigerian Network of Facilitators (NNF), a Generation Change fellow with the United State Institute of Peace (USIP), a Youth Compact Champion with ActionAid International, and an alumnus of the West Africa IPTI training for Women in Peacebuilding organized by Rotary International in partnership with Mediators Beyond Borders International (MBBI). Kaltumi holds a BSc in Biology from the University of Abuja, Nigeria.
