Kaddu Sebunya

Kaddu is a prominent conservation leader, serving as the CEO of the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) since 2019. With over 30 years of experience spanning grassroots, national, and global platforms, he is dedicated to safeguarding Africa's wildlife and wildlands while championing their integration into sustainable development. Under Kaddu's leadership, AWF has emerged as a driving force in redefining conservation through African leadership. He spearheaded AWF's ambitious 10-year strategic vision, focusing on fostering stewardship of Africa's natural heritage, promoting coexistence between people and wildlife, and preserving at-risk species and ecosystems. His advocacy underscores that conservation and economic progress are mutually reinforcing, positioning wildlife and wildlands as cultural and economic assets. Kaddu's influence extends across high-level forums like the Africa Protected Area Congress, the U.S.-Africa Leaders' Summit, Club of Rome among others. Kaddu holds dual master's degrees from Tufts University and the University of London, complementing his bachelor's degree in social sciences.
