Jordi Baltà Portolés works as a consultant and researcher at Trànsit Projectes, a cultural management company based in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona. He is also an advisor on culture and sustainable cities at the Committee on Culture of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) and a member of the UNESCO Expert Facility for the implementation of the 2005 Convention on the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. His areas of interest include the relation between culture and sustainable development, cultural diversity, cultural rights and international cultural relations. He has provided consultancy to a wide range of local, national and international organisations in Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia. He teaches a Degree in International Relations of Blanquerna at the Universitat Ramon Llull (URL) and the MA in Cultural Management of the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) and Universitat de Girona (UdG). He is a PhD candidate at the universities of Girona and Melbourne.
