Jonas Bagas is an Associate Director for Programs Open Society Foundations, focusing on democracy building in SE Asia. He was previously with OSF’s Public Health Program, as Program Officer on harm reduction and as Team Manager, focusing on health governance and financing and to co-lead the program’s work on vaccine justice at the height of the COVID pandemic. Prior to joining OSF, he was involved in HIV and LGBTIQ rights advocacy in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia, focused on the social and economic participation of marginalized communities (LGBT groups, HIV communities, and youth organizations). He was a program officer with APCASO, a Bangkok-based coalition of health and rights civil society organizations in the Asia Pacific region, where he implemented a regional advocacy portfolio on health and HIV financing. He studied political science at the University of the Philippines.
