Jihun Park is an M.A. candidate in political science at Yonsei University. With an interest in the interplay of security and geopolitics in Southeast Asia, his research focuses on terrorism and border security in the Indian subcontinent. His most recent work investigates the influence of participatory democracy on India's terrorism patterns, highlighting the region's nuanced socioeconomic and political structures. Previously, Jihun has authored policy reports on the Indo-Pacific strategy and North Korean nuclear policy during internships at the East Asia Institute and Institute of Indian Studies. In the field, Jihun has served as an operations sergeant at the Korean Demilitarized Zone with the United Nations Command Security Battalion-Joint Security Area, acquiring firsthand insights into the practical challenges of managing disputed boundaries and the pivotal role of negotiation in promoting democratic resilience amidst authoritarian threats.
