Jessica Roberts is an associate professor of journalism studies at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa/Catholic University of Portugal. She is author of "Effective journalism: How the information ecosystem works and what journalists should do about it" (2024) and co-author of "Attacks on the American Press" (2021) and "American Journalism and ‘Fake News’: Examining the Facts" (2018). Her research on citizen journalism and social media has been published in Digital Journalism, Journalism, and Social Media + Society, among other publications. She earned her Ph.D. at the University of Maryland and her M.A. at the University of Southern California.
