As a freelance journalist, Jennifer covers foreign policy, national security, international politics, human rights, and democracy. Most recently, she was a senior foreign and national security reporter at Vox, where she reported on conflicts and crises that challenge global stability. Her work has taken her from Dakar to Lviv to Tokyo, and has appeared in outlets including Vanity Fair, Foreign Policy, New Lines Magazine, Devex, The American Prospect, The New Republic, and Latino USA. Previously, she worked as an assistant editor at New York Magazine, where she contributed to the George Polk Award-winning cover story, Cosby: The Women. Her journalism has been supported by the Arthur F. Burns Fellowship, the United Nations Fellowship, and the Foreign Press Center Japan. Jennifer holds a master's degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and a bachelor's in international politics from Georgetown University.
