Isti Toq'ah has been a peace educator and activist for over a decade. She started from the edge of high school in 2009 when she left the intolerant Muslim group led by an Islamic political party. She founded PANDAI (Indonesia's Peace Education) Community, turns out to be a movement during her dual-masters degree with Asian Peacebuilders Scholarship funded by Nippon Foundation Japan in 2016-2017. The movement was recognized by Metro T.V., Tempo, and @america of U.S. Embassy Jakarta in 2018. She also has been invited to various forums and conferences like Future Leaders Connect at Møller Institute, University of Cambridge; East-West Center, University of Hawaii; and EMPOWER 2019: Reach Out to Asia's 11th Annual Youth Conference, ROTA and Qatar Foundation. She is a certified TEFL/TESOL English teacher who believes teaching English is one of the tools to educate for peacebuilding.
