Israel Campos is an award-winning Angolan freelance journalist based in Lisbon, Portugal. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the City University of London and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Strategic Communication and Leadership at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa. His research focuses on how segments of Angola's reformative and revolutionary movements use social media platforms, particularly Facebook, to disseminate their key messages and engage with various publics due to politically motivated limited access to traditional media. This interdisciplinary study draws from theories in communication, civic participation, and social movements. With a career that began early as a children's program announcer at Rádio Nacional de Angola, Israel has grown into an accomplished author and journalist. In 2023, he published his debut novel "E o Céu Mudou de Cor" in both Angola and Portugal. He contributes as a freelance journalist to international media outlets including VOA, BBC, Al Jazeera, and The Wall Street Journal, covering topics such as politics, human rights, and climate change in Angola. Since May 2023, Israel has been a member of Portugal's presidential think tank, "O Futuro já começou."
