Isabel Munilla is the founder of Munilla Consulting LLC and a leader in global efforts to secure sustainable, responsible energy and mineral supply chains. She brings two decades of experience shaping policy at the intersection of climate, markets, and extractive industries. Before launching her consulting practice, Isabel served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Market Development, Climate, and Multilateral Engagement at the U.S. Department of Energy (2022-2025). There, she led U.S. efforts to strengthen critical mineral supply chains, expand global deployment of clean energy technologies, and align multilateral climate and trade frameworks. Previously, she directed U.S. financial regulatory strategy at Ceres, advancing climate-related risk oversight at the SEC and Federal Reserve. Isabel also held leadership roles at Oxfam and Publish What You Pay, championing good governance in the oil, gas, and mining sectors. She began her career at the World Resources Institute and holds degrees in journalism and French from the University of Maryland, College Park.
