Ijang Bih Ngyah Epse Etchutambe

Ijang Bih Ngyah-Etchutambe is an Associate Professor of Child and Cognitive Development in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Buea, Cameroon. She is a passionate mid-career researcher and lecturer devoted to helping children become the best version of themselves through psychological context-relative interventions and scientific writing. She explores environmental circumstances that influences children’s learning and designs culturally relative, inclusive and interest-driven interventions that foster efficient learning, resilience, eco-consciousness and the mental health of children and youth in adversity. She has led projects like the SUNRISE international study of movement behaviours of 3-to-5-year-olds in Cameroon, leveraging literacy in early starters through digital animated folktales, and Culturally Enhanced Activity Approach to literacy enhancement of Internally Displaced Children. Currently, she serves as country coordinator of an EU mobility project on Resilience-Building for Education and Climate Learning Adaptation and Innovation in Mitigation (RECLAIM). She is Assistant Editor of Child: Care, Health and Development, Wiley.
