Ian Ryu is the head of Technology Partnerships at FedTech, leading the public-private partnership to build startups from breakthrough technologies through the venture capital ecosystem. In his current role, Ian leads FedTech's practice in technology scouting, partnerships for startup studios, and strategic engagements in technology transfer. Ian joined FedTech in 2019 as the third team member and built sustainable partnerships with multiple U.S. federal agencies to commercialize technologies for economic impact and public benefit. Prior to joining FedTech, Ian worked on numerous cutting-edge scientific research projects ranging from quantum biology to biomanufacturing at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Ian holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California - Berkeley, USA, and a bachelor's degree from Korea University, Korea.
