Hyeyeong Jang
Representative, Mangwonjeongx, South Korea
Jang Hye-yeong is the founder and representative of the non-profit organization Mangwonjeongx, where she leads the "Feminist school for politics," a project designed to build a leadership pipeline from grassroots activism to formal politics. Before founding the organization, she served as a legislator in the 21st National Assembly of the Republic of Korea from 2020 to 2024. During her term, her legislative work focused on gender equality, deinstitutionalization, universal human rights, and addressing the climate crisis. She also has experience in establishing global democratic networks and civic advocacy programs. She was named to the 2021 TIME100 Next list and selected as a 2026 VV Engage Fellow.
