Hideo Tone is a program officer of the Toyota Foundation, overseeing its International Grant Program since July 2014. Focused on common challenges in East, Southeast, and South Asia, he fosters mutual understanding through cross-sectoral exchanges in the region. Additionally, he leads a grant program addressing issues faced by migrants and individuals with foreign backgrounds in Japan, creating supportive systems and platforms. Prior to joining the Toyota Foundation, Hideo served as a program officer at Japan Center for International Exchange (JCIE), one of Japan's leading nonprofit, nonpartisan foreign affairs institutes. He was engaged in high-level bilateral dialogues and exchange programs, and contributed to the Friends of the Global Fund, Japan, to which JCIE serves as secretariat to support the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, one of the biggest health donors based in Geneva.
