Heather Altman has spent more than 25+ years in the non-profit, healthcare and aging services sectors. She promotes community-based initiatives addressing service delivery, workforce development and policy and planning related to aging services and supports, with emphasis on improving serious illness care, aging-in-place, and caregiver resources. Dr. Altman is Executive Director of the Health Sciences Health Innovations Group and the North Carolina Serious Illness Coalition. She hosts their on-line show "Friday Facts," interviewing health care leaders and advocates. She also hosts a radio show & podcast "Aging Well Together." Additionally, Dr. Altman consults with businesses, non-profit organizations, academic institutions, and government agencies, and provides support to individuals and families, building off her own experience as a family caregiver. Dr. Altman is also an adjunct faculty member with the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health where she received her master's and doctoral degrees.
