Harpo 't Hart is artistic director of the Embassy of the North Sea: an interdisciplinary collective of artists, scientists, lawyers, designers and policy-makers. The mission of the Embassy of the North Sea is to emancipate the North Sea in all its diversity as a fully fledged political player by means of listening to human and non-human voices. Harpo also works as a sound artist and as a composer. As a composer he makes music and sound for theatre. Harpo has made work for companies such as Het Nationale Theater, Rurhtriennale and Münchner Kammerspiele. He used to work as an educator at the Academy for Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam. He holds a bachelors degree in jazz piano from the Conservatory of Utrecht and a MSc degree in media technology from the University of Leiden.
