Hannelore Pourier is a student enrolled in the double-degree Master's program in Public Policy and Human Development offered by Maastricht University and the United Nations University's institute UNU-MERIT. She is currently writing her thesis titled "Supporting social entrepreneurship: a comprehensive policy guide for public policymakers". With her work, she hopes to contribute to the creation of a conducive environment for social entrepreneurs. She believes social entrepreneurship poses a promising approach to solving today's wicked challenges. She followed the specialization "Social entrepreneurship and Public Policy" and was able to apply some of the acquired knowledge in practice when working together with a social entrepreneur aiming to address the issue of food waste in Maastricht. Her deep interest in social entrepreneurship developed during her exchange in Rome when she took courses from the study Global Governance. Back in Maastricht, she wrote her bachelor thesis on social entrepreneurship and health system inequalities. Other topics that interest her include innovation, public health, systems thinking, and design thinking.
