Hannah Smith is a member of the White Earth Nation (Anishinaabe), Crane Clan, and a jingle dress dancer. She is currently living in Duluth, Minnesota. Hannah's life passions include the arts, philanthropy, earth sciences, and community building. Currently, Hannah is the first Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Fellow to join the Minnesota Region Five Development Commission team. She also serves on numerous other distinguished boards and commissions within the State of Minnesota as a shining force for social change, land back initiatives, and equity for Indigenous peoples. In her home community, Hannah works to create wearable art in the intricate Woodlands style of floral and fauna beadwork and artisanal leatherwork. She is currently working with a Minnesota-based shoe company called Minnetonka as one of the first partnered Native American beadwork artists and will be releasing beadwork and other culturally based designs in 2023 with the company.
