H Patten is the artistic director of Koromanti Arts and the 'H' Patten Dance Theatre Company. His work blends performance, research, and education, advancing understanding and appreciation of African and Caribbean arts and their global influence. Currently, H serves as the storytelling consultant for the Open University's DEPA project. He is also an accomplished choreographer, performer, filmmaker, storyteller, visual artist, and author with an international reputation in African and Caribbean arts spanning over 35 years and has earned numerous accolades, including the Jamaican High Commission 50th Anniversary Award for services to Arts, Culture, and Entertainment (2012). H has choreographed for national dance companies in Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Malawi, and Jamaica's Stella Maris Dance Ensemble. He has also worked on major UK productions, including the critically acclaimed Fences (2013), starring Lenny Henry. H is the author of the groundbreaking book Reading Religion and Spirituality in Jamaican Reggae Dancehall Dance: Spirit Bodies Moving (Routledge, 2022). As a 2020 Independent Social Research Foundation (ISRF) Scholar, he researched British reggae and dancehall dance. In 2019, he earned his Ph.D. from Canterbury Christ Church University
