Gülriz Çinar Berkin is a legal specialist currently working in the Climate Negotiations and International Policies Department at the Climate Change Presidency of Türkiye. Since 2022, she has served as a negotiator, with a focus on the "just transition" agenda within the UNFCCC processes. Gülriz is also an active member of the "just transition" working group under the Climate Change and Adaptation Coordination Board, which includes representatives from various ministries, public institutions, and NGOs. The group is responsible for shaping national climate change policies in Türkiye. Before joining the Climate Change Presidency, Gülriz worked for 15 years as a legal specialist in the Legal Department of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. While the Climate Change Mitigation Strategy and Action Plan (2024-2030) was being prepared, she coordinated the "just transition" section through stakeholder consultation processes.
