Gino Canella is an associate professor of journalism at Emerson College and a documentary filmmaker. His research focuses on social movements, visual culture, and labor. Gino collaborates with grassroots organizers to produce media and studies how the political economy of communication influences the production and circulation of information. He is the author of Activist Media: Documenting Movements and Networked Solidarity (Rutgers University Press, 2022), and editor of Raising Class Consciousness (Palgrave, 2025).
