Geeta Dharmarajan is a writer, editor, educationist, and the executive director at Katha, a non-for-profit organization that she founded in 1988. As a writer, she enjoys writing fiction and creative nonfiction, both for children and adults. Her professional editorial experience of over 25 years started with Target, a children´s magazine as writer, then assistant director, from where she moved on to the position of assistant editor of The Pennsylvania Gazette. Her deep interest and social work in education lead to the development of special pedagogy and curriculum for children coming from illiterate communities. Ms. Dharmarajan holds an M.A. from Madras University. She is accompanied by her husband, Raju Dharmarajan.
