Founding Director, Mongolian Contemporary Art Support Association, Mongolia
Gantuya Badamgarav worked for international development agencies as an economic analyst and consultant. Later, she held strategic management positions in the largest conglomerates in Mongolia. Following her passion, Gana decided to quit her successful career and established 976 Art Gallery and Mongolian Contemporary Art Support Association in 2012, with the aim to support and promote contemporary art in Mongolia. Given very limited resources and risk, Gana worked actively to support contemporary art; united organizations and people to channel their resources and passion. She organized and curated over 100 exhibitions in home country and four editions of Mongolia participation in Venice Art Biennale and partnered with other internationally known art events. In 2020, Gana initiated Nomadic Red Corner project to bring art in Ger districts of Ulaanbaatar city, where majority of poor populations live. She was invited as a speaker at 8th World Summit for Arts and Culture in Malta 2016, Culture Summit Abu Dhabi 2018 and GAAB Warsaw Summit 2019. She is one of the authors of Daybook, published by Documenta 14. She holds a master's of arts in macroeconomic policy from Williams College, MA, USA.
