Erika G Abad is an Assistant Professor of Communications at Nevada State University at the start of Fall 2022. They teach Intro to Oral Communication, Communication Theory and Women in Media courses. In the fall of 2022, they curated an art show titled "Two Cultures, One Family," for Marjorie Barrick at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Since the show ended. Dr. Abad has created workshops centering the role of family in education and leadership for the Nepantla Program, the McNair Scholars Program and The Teacher Academic Pipeline Project. Since the spring of 2024, Abad has worked with faculty and staff to increase sustainability initiative and advocate for bridging campus garden to work addressing food insecurity.
