Elizabeth Murray is currently in her final year of a DPhil studying the effect of preterm delivery and fetal growth restriction on neurodevelopment in early childhood. As part of her DPhil research she has worked on the development and validation of a neurodevelopmental screening tool for children at two years of age, which is intended for cross-cultural use in resource-limited settings. Preterm delivery and fetal growth restriction are the two leading causes of perinatal mortality and morbidity worldwide. Her research was recently presented at the World Health Summit and was published in the Lancet's New Voices in Global Health.She held the positon of Minister for Health and Social Security at the 2012 Commonwealth Youth Parliament, and was guest speaker and panel member at the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association's 61st Westminster Seminar on Parliamentary Practice and Procedure.She holds a MSc in Neuroscience from Oxford.
