Edna Harel Fisher lives near Jerusalem, Israel. She has a legal background and a lifelong interest in humanities. She is currently a fellow researcher at the Israel Democracy Institute, where she leads the policy research on Nationhood and on Freedom of Cultural, Artistic and Academic Speech. Edna also heads the Public Ethics and Anti-Corruption Program. She has 25 years of experience in the Israeli civil service, mainly in the Ministry of Justice. She was the head of the legal and legislative department at the Ministry of Justice, overseeing a wide range of issues in government regulation. Edna also served as the legal advisor to the Ministry of Science, Culture and Sport, dealt with cultural policy issues and contributed to policy decisions on higher education and on R&D in Israel.
