Edgardo Medeiros da Silva is assistant professor of English at the School of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon (ISCSP) and a researcher with the University of Lisbon Centre for English Studies (ULICES). He is a member of the Portuguese Association for Anglo-American Studies (APEAA) and the International American Studies Association (IASA). He has been publishing regularly on American cultural history, American political history, and American historiography, his main areas of academic research. Some of his most recent scholarship includes The Fate of Barbarism: Francis Parkman's The Conspiracy of Pontiac (2019), Enlightened Amity: The Abbé Correia da Serra-Thomas Jefferson Correspondence (2018), and Observing the American Scene: The Abbé Correia da Serra in America, 1812-1820 (2015). He is also the author of The Political Jeremiad of Henry Adams - Inside American Politics, 1865-1914 (2014). He holds master's and Ph.D. from University of Lisbon in American Literature and American Culture. Edgardo is a Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
